What is LGBTQ+ recovery and sober coaching?
LGBTQ+ recovery and sober coaching is specialised support for gay men and LGBTQ+ individuals who want to change their relationship with alcohol, drugs or chemsex. I offer non-judgmental, compassionate, accountability and guidance focused on harm reduction, recovery and support building a healthy sober life.
How can a recovery coach help with alcohol use?
I can help you set goals, build healthy habits, develop coping strategies and stay accountable. Support is customised to your specific journey which can include sobriety or not.
Is recovery coaching therapy?
No. But it can work alongside or after therapy. Coaching is about looking forward, setting goals and being held accountable - a crucial part of recovery. Whereas therapy is about looking back at the past.
How long are LGBTQ+ recovery or sober coaching sessions?
Sessions typically last 60 minutes.
What happens if I relapse or start using again?
It happens and it's part of the process. You only know where your vulnerabilities are when things don't go to plan. With compassion and acceptance, we'll work to understand what happened and then develop new strategies or boundaries.
What's your education and experience in coaching?
I've been a support, keyworker, specialist drug advisor and recovery coach for over 10 years for a variety of healthcare organisations and LGBTQ+ charities and have professional training in coaching. I'm also an accredited coach. You're in good hands.
Do you work online or in-person?
I offer online coaching sessions via video chat making support accessible wherever you are.
Is your coaching confidential?
Absolutely. All coaching sessions are 100% confidential in a safe, non-judgmental LGBTQ+ and kink friendly space where you can explore your behaviours, challenges and journey at your own pace.
What's your privacy and data policy?
Your profile data is secure, never shared and stored anonymously - in line with industry standards and European GDPR guidelines.
