This is a free interactive life satisfaction wheel tool which you may experience when working with a recovery or life coach.
The Life Wheel is a self-assessment tool that helps you see different areas of your life. The queer version, unlike generic wheels, is customised to the unique experiences faced by gay, queer, trans and bi people. It’s not just about health, career and finances; it’s about identity, community and the things that make life meaningful for you.
Fill out the below form representing a key area of your life. Rate each area from 1 (low satisfaction) to 10 (high satisfaction). You should be as honest as possible to get the best result. This is for you and not anyone else.
Health & wellbeing: How do you feel physically and mentally? Do you have access to LGBTQ+ friendly healthcare?
Work & purpose: Are you satisfied with your job? Do you feel included and valued at work? Does your career align with your values?
Family & support network: Do you feel connected to your family, biological family or community?
Friendship & community: Are your relationships supportive? Are you involved in queer spaces or communities?
Romantic relationships: How fulfilling is your love life? Do you experience emotional intimacy and healthy partnerships?
Sex & body confidence: How do you feel about your body, sexual health and exploration? Do you practice consent and self-acceptance?
Creative expression & identity: Are you living authentically? Do you express your gender, identity and creativity freely?
Learning & growth: Are you investing in personal development?
Finances & stability: Do you feel secure in your housing, income and access to resources?
Spirituality & values: What gives your life meaning? Do you connect with your values, queerness or spiritual path?
After pressing submit, you'll see a visual representation of your life's balance. If some sections are much lower, those are the areas that need your attention. E.g. if your “Friendship & Community” score is low, it might be time to seek out queer spaces or build stronger connections.

Recovery isn’t just about abstinence; it’s about building a life that is worth living. For gay, queer and other LGBTQ+ people, that often means addressing unique stressors like discrimination, rejection or shame. The Life Wheel helps you see where you're thriving and where you need support.
