Crystal Meth Withdrawal Timeline: What Happens After You Stop?
Your body and brain start healing the moment you stop. Here's what to expect.

A timeline explainer

For regular users, especially those on a 4 week cycle, the brain may not fully clear the chemical effects before the next use. Effects may also be dependent on dosage and long-term use.

💥 Up to 72hrs
The ‘Crash’ phase. Users experience exhaustion and dehydration. This phase is usually spent sleeping & recovering. There is a big drop in dopamine, decline in energy and brain function where shame, anxiety & depression are common. Possible hallucinations & paranoia can occur and cravings usually start quickly during this phase.

😵‍💫 3-7 days
The acute withdraw phase. This phase is marked by mood swings, an empty feeling, irritability & paranoia with the risk of relapse being extremely high. Users may experience sleep disturbances with potential of intense cravings. Appetite usually improves during this time.

😶‍🌫️ 1-4 weeks
The early recovery phase. During this phase it is critical to start and maintain self-care routines.
Symptoms usually peak between 7-10 days, sleep improves and cravings occur but are more manageable. Brain chemistry starts resetting but low feelings still occur.

📆 1-3 months
The stabilisation & healing phase. Most acute symptoms resolve but long-term users may experience symptoms up to month 3. During this phase cravings decrease hugely, and mood, motivation & pleasure return. Brain function repairs with sharper thinking, memory & focus. However, Emotional healing can take longer.

Healing takes time and every day is a victory. But your brain and body will recover. If you’re experiencing difficulties with comedowns after crystal or are tired of the cycle of meth use then DM me and let’s talk.
